Long range rifle project

SAUER 200 STR modified for long range shooting.

The entire rifle has been painted with Duracoat, and has a new Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 PMII variable scope mounted on a U.S. optics 20 moa picatinny rail.

The barrel is a 28" .308 barrel, but it will be replaced with a  6.5x55 barrel as this round has better characteristics for long range shooting out to +1000 meters.

The .308 normally go subsonic around 800 meters or so, causing erratic bullet flight patterns.

The Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 PMII scope features double turn elevation turret, parallax adjustment, and an illuminated reticle. The scope has the P3 mildot reticle and the turrets are 0.1 mil per click, i.e. 1 cm @ 100 m.

Scope and action details. Future plans also include a new barrel with threads for a suppressor.
